Week Eight ! Photographer's Choice !

Day Trip to Schreiner's Iris Gardens in Salem,OR  Hidden along the side of I-5 there is an almost secret Iris Garden ! They are open Friday 8 AM–4:30 PM, Monday 8 AM–6 PM,Tuesday 7 AM–4:30 PM, Wednesday 8 AM–4:30 PM, Thursday 8 AM–4:30 PM and closed Sunday and Mondays. Their blooming season starts in early May until early June.  Their garden is full of beautiful Irises and many other types of interestingly beautiful flowers. Each year they grow 150 acres of Irises! They have been family owned and operated for four generations. Colorful seating all along the edge of the flower garden. 

Week Six ! Around LBCC's Campus

      A week at Linn Benton Community College ! Caty Contreras, an HDFS major at Linn Benton, holding up signs and posing on May 2nd's Rally for Equity.  On Saturday May 13th, Gardening Club gathered for their monthly work party. Week Five ! Environmental Portraits

  Environmental Portraits! Meet Sherry Spear at Spearit Bead Co. ! This is Shelly Spear, owner of Spearit Bead Company in Historic Downtown Albany near Monteith river park. I got the chance to chat with her about her shop and what's special and interesting about it! They opened their doors in October of 2005, in a different location down on 4th street near the Pix Theatre. Did you know that they are the largest bead store in the Willamette Valley and maybe even all of Oregon?! They have a wide selection of materials of beads, and jewelry making supply, such as antique ,glass, stone ,pearl, shell, coral and even bone beads! "If you can imagine it, we've got it!" Spear told me. There are many great options along with amazing prices over at Spearit Beads !

Week Four ! On the Job

On The Job!                                        ðŸŽœðŸŽœ   workin' nine to five, whatta way to make a livin'  🎜🎜   Meet Rachel Parks! Catering manager and master cheese and meat slicer at Grazing Oregon Charcuteries, located in North Albany. This small business sources locally from all over Oregon. While they have been offering catering for any special event for the last five years, they opened a sit down restaurant in August of 2022 ! Rachel has been working with Grazing Oregon since they opened their physical location. Diagnostic Imaging student and Roastrunners' barista, Jonah Wasmer steaming some milk for a hot cup of joe!
